Quickstart
Create and send your first invoice in about ten minutes.
This walks the whole path once: sign in, set up the business that issues invoices, add a client, create an invoice, issue it, and send it. Everything after this page goes deeper on one step.
Have your company and bank details ready
Invoicey requires a valid 8-digit IČO, Czech IBAN and complete issuer address before issue. Keep them nearby for this walkthrough.
Invoicey uses OAuth only — Google or GitHub. There is no password to set and no email-confirmation step.
First sign-in creates a personal workspace for you automatically. All your data lives inside it.
Create an issuer
An issuer is a business that issues invoices — you, or your s.r.o. Go to Issuers → New.
Type your IČO and Invoicey fills the legal name, address and DIČ from ARES. Review the result, then add the details ARES cannot know:
You must still supply:
- Bank account and matching IBAN — used on the PDF and in the payment QR.
- VAT payer — whether you charge DPH. If off, every line is forced to 0 % and the PDF prints Nejsem plátce DPH instead of a VAT breakdown.
- Contact email — required. It becomes the
Reply-Toon invoice emails. - Numbering — the default
{YYYY}{####}produces20260001.
Optionally upload a logo, stamp and signature image; they are placed on the PDF.
Add a client
Clients → New, then the same trick: enter the client's IČO and let ARES fill the rest. If you do not know the IČO, search by company name instead.
For clients you will email invoices to, set contact email now. Without it, every send needs a manually typed recipient.
Create an invoice
Invoices → New. Pick the issuer and client you just made, then add line items — description, quantity, unit price, VAT rate.
Invoicey pre-fills the header; review these fields:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Datum vystavení | Issue date |
| Datum splatnosti | Due date — must be on or after the issue date |
| DUZP | Date of taxable supply. Required on invoices and credit notes |
| VAT mode | regular, reverse charge or OSS — see Czech VAT |
| Variabilní symbol | Payment reference. Defaults to the invoice number's digits |
Totals recompute as you type, per VAT rate, and are checked again server-side when you issue.
Issue it
A saved invoice is a draft: no number, fully editable, not a tax document.
Issue turns it into a real one, in a single transaction: allocates the next number from your scheme, freezes snapshots of the issuer and client, recomputes totals, renders the PDF and ISDOC, and stamps the issue date.
Issuing is one-way. Issued invoices cannot be edited — only cancelled and re-issued. This is deliberate; see statuses.
Send it
From the invoice detail, Send email. Invoicey attaches the PDF (always) and the ISDOC (on by default) and sends via Resend.
The email uses {Issuer name} via Invoicey, replies go to the issuer's contact address, and delivery
events appear on the invoice timeline.
Mark it paid
When the money lands, Mark paid on the invoice (or add a manual payment under Payments).
Invoicey records an allocation in the payment ledger; when the total is covered, status derives to
paid and it drops out of your overdue list.
If you bank with Fio, connect a read-only monitoring token under Settings → Bank connections and confirm match proposals on Payments instead of typing everything by hand — see Reconcile payments.
